Saints Dominate Day Two of Brother Al Invitational

San Antonio, Texas- Day Two of the Brother Al Invitational proved to be a dominant showing for Our Lady of the Lake University's (OLLU) tennis programs, as both the women's and men's teams delivered commanding performances against opponents from across all collegiate divisions. The Saints demonstrated exceptional focus, skill, and depth, further solidifying their place as a rising force in collegiate tennis.

On the women's side, OLLU swept singles competition with clinical precision. Carolina Guerrero opened the day with a near-flawless victory against her Texas Lutheran University (TLU) opponent, conceding just one game en route to a 6-0, 6-1 win. Ely Laure followed with a double-bagel win, showcasing her consistency and control in a 6-0, 6-0 victory over another TLU opponent. Anja Pisar mirrored Guerrero's result, taking her match 6-0, 6-1, while Michaela Muller delivered an equally dominant 6-0, 6-0 victory against Arlyn Ramos of TLU.

Doubles play for the OLLU women continued the trend of dominance. The duo of Pisar and Guerrero blanked their Texas Lutheran counterparts 8-0, demonstrating flawless communication and tactical execution at the net. Similarly, Laure and Marie Peters executed at a high level, also securing an 8-0 victory against TLU. The Saints' women's doubles pairings not only controlled tempo and rhythm throughout but also capitalized on every opportunity to close out points quickly, asserting full command from the outset.

The OLLU men's team made their mark in the open doubles draw, taking on a range of opponents including host school Saint Mary's and Texas Lutheran. Caleb Olen and Paulo Ceolin earned a solid 6-3 win over a Texas Lutheran pairing, using effective first-serve percentages and strong baseline play to maintain control. Jaroslav Majsajdr and Joao Santos continued the winning momentum with a confident 6-2 win over Saint Mary's, showing crisp volleys and aggressive court positioning. Bastien Prod'homme and Jacob Gailey followed with a 6-4 victory, also against Saint Mary's, demonstrating resilience in the key moments of their match. Matis Nuziere and Louis Bocquet rounded out the sweep for the Saints with a convincing 6-3 win over Texas Lutheran, closing the day with a strong statement of depth and versatility within the men's doubles rotation.

The second day of the Brother Al Invitational underscored the talent and preparation of OLLU's tennis programs. The Saints faced opponents from all NCAA divisions and rose to the challenge with determination, poise, and a clear competitive edge. The consistent success across singles and doubles brackets speaks not only to individual excellence but also to the team's collective unity and strategic preparation.
