Baseball Season Ends In Salina

Salina, Kansas- Our Lady of the Lake University's historic baseball season came to an end on the national stage Tuesday afternoon as the Saints fell to Concordia (Neb.) 9-8 in the NAIA National Tournament.

Despite the loss, OLLU closes the year with a 34-20 overall record, tying the program mark for most wins in a single season while establishing one of the most successful campaigns in school history. Throughout the season, the Saints broke multiple program records and continued to raise the standard for OLLU Baseball.

The Saints battled throughout the final game of the season, overcoming an early deficit and remaining within striking distance until the final out. Concordia used a powerful offensive performance, highlighted by three home runs and 14 hits, to build an early advantage. Bronx Lewis and Luke Wilson each drove in three runs for the Bulldogs, while Jaeden Jordahl added a two-run home run.

OLLU responded offensively with timely hitting and contributions throughout the lineup. Diego Zuniga led the way with a two-run home run, while Joshua Milton added a two-run double. Jack Kalisky recorded a hit, scored twice, and drove in a run, while Jacob Cueva, Aiden Gonzalez, and Brett Atkinson each added RBIs of their own.

After trailing 7-5 through the middle innings, the Saints continued to battle back late. OLLU scored three runs over the final two innings to cut the deficit to one and brought the tying run into scoring position, but Concordia was able to secure the final outs to advance.

Noah Ferraro made the start for the Saints, while Xavior Salazar and Omar Rodriguez combined to provide six innings of relief. Rodriguez allowed just two runs over the final five innings to keep OLLU within reach down the stretch.

Although the season ended one game short of continuing their postseason run, the 2026 Saints will be remembered as one of the most accomplished teams in program history. From record-breaking performances to a national tournament appearance, the group leaves behind a season that helped elevate OLLU Baseball to new heights.
