Men's Basketball Earns 90-86 Victory Over LSU-Shreveport
SAN ANTONIO (Dec. 19, 2024) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's basketball team downed LSU-Shreveport (LSUS) 90-86 on Thursday night. The Saints improve to 12-1 overall and 8-1 in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC). The Pilots fall to 8-6 overall and 5-5 in the RRAC.
Head Coach Marcus Thompson commented, "I'm happy to get the win! LSU-Shreveport has a ton of talent and guys that can simply get a bucket. They were a handful to deal with tonight. We started off slow and sloppy. We did a lot of things that were self-inflicting. The turnovers we had weren't the quality turnovers we want to live with as a team. I'm proud of the way we kept battling and how we found a way to win. Rob Gil and Wahkil Lopez were phenomenal for us. We really needed the energy Rob brought to the table defensively to turn the game around. Wahkil did a great job of controlling the paint. The beauty about this team is how many different guys are able to step up and play huge roles. I'm happy to get the win and must get ready for Saturday!"
