Saints Fall Behind Early, Drop Contest to Eagles

Texarkana, Texas- The Our Lady of the Lake men's basketball team showed determination and composure throughout the contest, but a historic shooting performance from Texas A&M Texarkana proved decisive as the Saints fell 93–66. Despite the final score, OLLU competed with discipline and effort, executing offensively in stretches and continuing to battle on both ends of the floor.

Jaydin Morin-Bishop led the Saints with 12 points, knocking down three three-pointers and providing steady play on the perimeter. Matthew Gonzalez delivered a strong performance off the bench, scoring a team-high 14 points and connecting on four shots from beyond the arc, helping keep OLLU within striking distance during key moments. Jermey Irwin added eight points and three assists, while Kenyon Elliott contributed seven points and six rebounds, anchoring the Saints effort on the glass.

OLLU shot efficiently from the free-throw line, converting 80 percent of its attempts, and shared the ball well with 13 assists as the team worked to create quality looks. Defensively, the Saints remained active, forcing turnovers and contesting shots, with Mike Aiken and Eddie McAffe providing energy and leadership off the bench.

Texas A&M Texarkana pulled away behind an exceptional three-point shooting display, but the Saints never lost their competitive edge. OLLU continued to rotate players, defend with purpose, and push the tempo, reflecting a team committed to growth and consistency.

While the outcome did not favor the Saints, the performance highlighted key contributions across the roster and a collective effort. The Saints will be back in action on Thursday against UNT-Dallas at 7:30 PM CDT.
