OLLU Men's Tennis Receive Academic Awards from ITA
SAN ANTONIO (July 25, 2024) - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) is proud to announce the 2024 NAIA Men's ITA Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams. Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) plus six members of the team are included in the recognition. Academia is not just a part, but an integral aspect of the college tennis experience. It adds a unique dimension to the student-athlete experience found on college campuses across the nation, where academic excellence is as celebrated as athletic prowess.
In tennis, student-athletes continue to exceed expectations in the classroom and on the court. In 2024, 202 NAIA men's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 27 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:
- Have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
- Be listed on the institutional eligibility form
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:
- Have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale),

The Saints finished the season with a remarkable 3.547 GPA. Eleven of the 14 team members had GPAs of 3.0 and above, while three earned a 4.0 GPA, and three earned 3.5 GPAs and above. This collective success is a reflection of the unity and camaraderie within the team.
