Saints Tennis Celebrates Senior Day
San Antonio, Texas- Our Lady of the Lake celebrated senior day in dominant fashion as both the men's and women's tennis teams earned 6-1 victories over Hardin-Simmons.
On the men's side, the Saints secured the doubles point by winning two of the three matches. Foster and Lengacher earned a 6-1 victory at No. 2 doubles, while Bocquet and Fusaro battled to a 7-6 (7-2) win at the No. 3 position. Harris and Smith of Hardin-Simmons claimed the lone doubles win for the visitors with a 6-3 decision at No. 1.
With the early advantage, the Saints carried momentum into singles play and won five of the six matches. Smith of Hardin-Simmons picked up the visitors' only point at No. 1 singles, defeating Majsajdr in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. The Saints responded with straight-set wins across the remaining courts, beginning with Costa's 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 2 and Prod'homme's 6-1, 6-1 result at No. 3. Fusaro added a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 4, while Nogueira secured a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 5. Guimaraes closed out singles play with a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 6 to clinch the team result.
The women's team set the tone early, sweeping all three doubles matches. Pisar and Chambon earned a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles, Muller and Guerrero followed with a 6-2 victory at No. 2, and Laure and Peters completed the sweep with a 6-0 result at No. 3.
In singles play, Guerrero delivered a strong performance at No. 1 with a 7-5, 7-6 victory. Pisar added a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 2, while Peters secured a 6-2, 6-2 decision at No. 3. Laure continued the momentum with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 4. Hardin-Simmons picked up its lone point at No. 5 singles, where Diamond defeated Chambon in a three-set match, 6-4, 2-6, 10-5. Muller closed out the day for the Saints with a 6-4, 6-0 victory at No. 6.
With both teams delivering commanding performances, the Saints honored their seniors with a pair of 6-1 victories, highlighted by a strong doubles showing from the men and a doubles sweep from the women on their home courts.
