WACO, TEXAS (March 28, 2023) - Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Track and Field Athletes of the Week have been announced for the dates of March 20-26 with this week's honorees including De'Jon Lewis and Cerrone Thompson. This is the third set of RRAC track and field weekly awards for the 2023 outdoor season. Lewis and Thompson have now been recognized twice this season.

Lewis posted a national "A" standard mark to qualify for nationals with a distance of 7.26m in the long jump. The sophomore jumper from New Orleans placed sixth overall against NCAA D1 teams at Texas State University (TXST). 

Thompson set a school record in the 400-meter dash at the Charles Austin Classic hosted by TXST. The freshman sprinter from Anchorage, Alaska, qualified for nationals with a time of 47.41 while placing fifth against teams from TXST, University of the Incarnate Word (UIW), Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK) and the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). Thompson also posted a time of 22.08 in the 200-meter event.
