WACO, TEXAS (March 26, 2024) – Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Track and Field Athletes of the Week have been announced for March 18-24 with this week's honorees including Our Lady of the Lake University's (OLLU) Cerrone Thompson - track and Shakeel Zahid - field. This is the third set of track and field weekly awards for the 2024 RRAC outdoor season. 

Thompson won the 400-meter dash at the Charles Austin Classic in San Marcos, Texas, on Saturday. The sophomore from Anchorage, Alaska, sprinted to a time of 47.31 in a field of 19 mostly NCAA Division I competitors. Thompson's time qualified as an NAIA "A" standard and established a new OLLU record. 

Zahid placed fourth in the high jump against a tough field at the Charles Austin Classic. The junior from Katy, Texas, reached a height of 1.81 meters in the event hosted by Texas State University. OLLU's men's team was ranked first in the South Central region in the most recent polls.
