WACO, TEXAS (March 27, 2023) - Caitlin Terrazas of Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) earned the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Softball Player of the Week award for March 20-26, while teammate Cassandra Valdez  received the RRAC Pitcher of the Week honor for the same dates. This is the eighth set of weekly awards for the 2023 softball season.

Terrazas went 4-for-4 with six RBIs in a doubleheader sweep of University of the Southwest (USW). The graduate infielder from Atascosa, Texas, delivered a double and a home run in the second game. Terrazas also took her 19th hit-by-pitch of the season, which leads the NAIA. Terrazas and Valdez lead the RRAC with eight home runs apiece. OLLU, which is ranked second nationally, improved to 12-0 in conference play and 26-4 overall.

Valdez threw a no-hitter to earn a 10-0 win over USW in her only start last week. The senior from Brownsville, Texas, struck out 11 with no walks while missing a perfect game by one hit-by-pitch. Valdez also went 3-for-5 with two doubles and a homer over two games. She leads the RRAC with 13 wins and 136 strikeouts.
