Six from Softball Receive NAIA Scholar-Athlete Honors

KANSAS CITY, MO. (May 25, 2023) - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the 2023 Daktronics NAIA Softball Scholar-Athletes this week. The 2023 list features student-athletes who achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution, appeared on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.

Earning recognition from OLLU are Marissa Bradley, Kayla Dreese, Jennifer Estrada, Kristee Salas, Caitlin Terrazas and Cassandra Valdez.

Bradley joined the team in 2020 and is a two-time Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Scholar-Athlete. She earned a 3.55 GPA.

Dreese joined the team in 2019 and is a four-time RRAC Scholar-Athlete. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and is pursuing a Master of Business Administration in Management. She earned a 3.75 GPA.

Estrada joined the team in 2019 and is a four-time RRAC Scholar-Athlete She received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology earlier this month. She earned a 3.69 GPA.

Salas joined the team in 2021 and is a two-time RRAC Scholar-Athlete. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She earned a 3.68 GPA.

Terrazas joined the team in 2021 and is a two-time RRAC Scholar-Athlete. She received her Master of Science in Nonprofit Management earlier this month. She earned a 3.67 GPA.

Valdez joined the team in 2021 and is a two-time RRAC Scholar-Athlete. This past May, she received her Bachelor of Arts in Visual and New Media. She earned a 3.58 GPA.
