WACO, TEXAS (Feb. 20, 2024) – Cassandra Valdez of Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) was recognized as the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week for Feb. 12-18. She claimed her second straight RRAC Pitcher of the Week honor. This is the third set of weekly winners for the 2024 RRAC softball season.

Valdez collected a win and a save as the seventh-ranked Saints swept a pair of games against NAIA No. 6 University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma. The graduate right-hander from Brownsville, Texas, struck out eight and scattered six hits in a complete game victory, 2-1. Valdez also earned a save with 1.2 innings of work with no hits allowed as OLLU won the second game, 7-2. She is tops in the RRAC in strikeouts (46) while also leading in hitting categories such as home runs (4) and RBIs (14). The Saints are off to a 10-1 start
