Saints Keep Title Hopes Alive, Move Past Yotes

Columbus, Georgia- Our Lady of the Lake continued its impressive run at the NAIA World Series with a commanding 6-0 victory over the College of Idaho, using timely hitting and dominant pitching to move one step closer to a championship opportunity.

From the opening inning, OLLU set the tone. Arianna Alejandro sparked the offense with a perfect day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored and a stolen base. The Saints wasted little time capitalizing on early opportunities, putting pressure on the College of Idaho defense and forcing mistakes that quickly shifted momentum in OLLU's favor.

Lilly Rocha delivered one of the biggest performances of the afternoon, finishing 2-for-3 with two RBIs, including a pair of doubles that energized the Saints' dugout. Caitlin Casas and Marisa Rosales each added RBI hits, while Novalee Gloria and Alyssa Guzman also drove in runs as OLLU piled up 10 hits in the victory.

The Saints aggressive approach on the bases kept the Yotes uncomfortable throughout the game. Alejandro and Reanna Aguirre each recorded stolen bases, helping OLLU consistently create scoring chances. Even when runners were stranded, the Saints maintained pressure and never allowed the College of Idaho to settle in defensively.

Inside the circle, Annika Litterio once again showed why she has been one of the Saints' most dependable arms all season. The right-hander threw five shutout innings, allowing just four hits while striking out three to earn her 28th victory of the year. Valeria Vielma closed the door in dominant fashion, tossing two no-hit innings with three strikeouts to preserve the shutout.

The College of Idaho struggled to generate offense against the Saints' pitching staff. Chloe Flerchinger led the Yotes with two hits, while Kamryn Ham and Hallie Campbell added one hit apiece. However, OLLU's defense and pitching combination never allowed a breakthrough inning, stranding multiple runners and recording six total strikeouts.

The Saints also benefited from disciplined execution at the plate, finishing the game without a single strikeout offensively. Their ability to consistently put the ball in play created constant pressure and helped wear down the College of Idaho pitching staff throughout the contest.

With the victory, OLLU keeps its NAIA World Series run alive and now turns its attention to a matchup against Mobile tomorrow. Carrying momentum from a complete performance on both sides of the ball, the Saints will look to continue their postseason surge as they chase a spot deeper into the national tournament field.
