Bio

Coach Whytney Singleton a Prichard, AL native is entering her second season as an Assistant Coach, bringing a well-rounded perspective to the game, shaped by her impressive career both as a player and a coach. Her experience spans from high school courts to NCAA Division I competition and NAIA national tournaments, where she’s built a reputation for developing talent and fostering a competitive environment.

Playing Career:

After earning a starting position as a freshman on her varsity high school team, Coach Singleton quickly became a standout player. She led her team to three Final Four appearances, showcasing her ability to perform under pressure. In her junior season, she helped secure a State Runner-Up Championship, a testament to her leadership and determination on the court.

At the collegiate level, Coach Singleton went on to become a four-year Division I player at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). During her senior year, she played an instrumental role in leading the team to the Conference USA regular-season championship. Her leadership and skills helped the team earn a spot in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT), marking a successful end to her playing career.

Coaching Career:

After graduating with a degree in Kinesiology, Coach Singleton transitioned to coaching. She began her career by coaching high school varsity girls’ basketball and also worked with AAU teams, where she gained valuable experience developing players of all skill levels.

In her first year as a college coach, Coach Singleton made an immediate impact, helping to elevate the program and its players. She guided her team to remarkable success, producing two First Team All-Conference players and one Defensive Player of the Year. Her ability to connect with athletes and elevate their performance quickly gained attention.

In addition to her contributions on the sideline as a collegiate coach, Singleton also serves as the Assistant Program Director of Next Level Moxie (Mobile, AL) , a community-driven basketball initiative designed to foster growth and mentorship within the sport.
