OLLU's Dorsey, Reynard and Trevino Win Volleyball Players of the Week Awards

WACO, TEXAS (Oct. 24, 2023)– Mia Dorsey of Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) earned recognition as the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Volleyball Attacker of the Week for Oct. 16-22. OLLU's Lauren Reynard collected the RRAC Setter of the Week award, and OLLU's Tina Trevino was named RRAC Defender of the Week for the same dates. This is the ninth set of weekly winners for the 2023 RRAC volleyball season.

Dorsey posted a .479 hitting percentage as the Saints swept two matches from Louisiana Christian University (LCU). The sophomore outside hitter from San Antonio compiled 16 kills on Friday and 12 more on Saturday while averaging 4.7 per set. In the second match, she reached a double-double with 11 digs. Dorsey is fourth in the RRAC in hitting percentage (.443) and kills per set (3.51). OLLU surged to 11-1 in conference play and 14-11 on the season. This is Dorsey's second Attacker of the Week award this season.

Reynard recorded 86 assists in six sets to lead the sweep of LCU. The sophomore setter from San Antonio averaged 14.3 assists per set including a total of 46 assists in Saturday's match. Reynard leads the conference with 10.9 assists per set. This is Reynard's third Setter of the Week award this season.

Trevino averaged 5.5 digs per set in the series against LCU. The junior libero from Laredo, Texas, accounted for 33 digs including 21 on Friday. Trevino committed only three receiving errors in 43 chances. She leads the RRAC in digs (421) and digs per set (4.84) this season. This is Trevino's first Defender of the Week award this season.
