OLLU's Vincent Garza and Sanai Robinson Win Cross-Country Runners of the Week Awards
WACO, TEXAS (Sept. 26, 2023) – Vincent Garza of Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) earned recognition as the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for Sept. 18-24, and OLLU's Sanai Robinson claimed the RRAC Women's Runner of the Week honor for the same dates. This is the third set of conference awards for the 2023 cross country season.
Garza led the Saints to a 13th place team finish out of 23 teams at the Oklahoma State University Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Okla. The freshman from San Antonio placed 85th individually in a field of 200 runners with a time of 27:10 in the 8K distance.
Robinson posted a time of 24:00 in the women's 6K race at the OSU Cowboy Jamboree. The freshman from San Antonio finished in 59th place against 199 runners in the field. In the team results, OLLU finished 12th among the 19 teams.
This is Garza's second Runner of the Week win, and Robinson's third consecutive win.
