Trey Law Scores Season-High in Loss to Mustangs
HOBBS, N.M. (January 3, 2025) – The Our Lady of the Lake (OLLU) men's basketball team traveled west on Thursday night to continue Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) action against University of the Southwest (USW). In their first game of the new year, the Saints fell short, falling to the Mustangs 99-88 at the Jack and Mabel Student Life Center.
The loss is the second straight for the Saints, moving their record to 12-3 overall on the season and 8-3 in RRAC play. OLLU trailed by five after a half of action and went on to lose by 11.
The game as played evenly in most statistical categories, but the difference came at the free throw line as USW converted 32 of their 38 attempts while the Saints shot 26 free throws, making 18.
Trey Law led all scorers with a game and season-high 21 points on an efficient 10-of-14 performance from the field. Breion Powell added 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting while Rob Gil chipped in with 12 points to go along with a team-high six assists.
Conference play will continue for the Saints as they travel to Paul Quinn College for a Saturday matchup with the Tigers. Tipoff is set for 3:00 p.m. at the Health & Wellness Center. To watch the game live click HERE.
